KUALA LUMPUR (July 1): Malaysian property developer Majestic Gen Sdn Bhd has appointed Wong Yik Fong as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective July 1, 2026, as part of a leadership restructuring aimed at supporting the company's long-term growth and succession planning.

The new leadership structure also sees Datuk Hoo Kim See assume the role of chairman and director, while Ta Wee Dher has been appointed group managing director.

Wong brings more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering, township development and corporate leadership. Before joining Majestic Gen, he served as chief operating officer at Trinity and previously held senior leadership positions at Gamuda Land.

As CEO, Wong will be responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day operations, including project execution, stakeholder engagement, sales performance and talent development. He said his priority is to strengthen the alignment between strategy, execution and people as the company enters a new stage of growth.

Under the revised leadership framework, Hoo will focus on board-level governance, corporate vision, strategic oversight and maintaining stakeholder confidence. Meanwhile, Ta will lead the group's overall business strategy, with responsibilities covering land bank acquisition, strategic partnerships, new business ventures, development planning and expanding the company's project pipeline.

According to Hoo, the leadership transition is designed to ensure continuity while empowering the next generation of leaders to support the company's future expansion.

Ta said his focus will be on strengthening Majestic Gen's land bank, pursuing strategic business opportunities and driving development initiatives that support sustainable long-term growth.

Following its corporate rebranding in 2024, Majestic Gen launched six property developments with a combined gross development value (GDV) of RM3.05 billion by the end of 2025. The company is targeting the launch of four new projects worth a total GDV of RM370.49 million in 2026.

Looking ahead, Majestic Gen plans to accelerate its growth by expanding its land bank, exploring new business opportunities and enhancing project delivery across residential, commercial, industrial and integrated developments.
