PETALING JAYA (July 2): Gamuda Land and Taylor's Assets have officially broken ground on Haus on 15, marking the transformation of the former Taylor's College Subang Jaya campus into a mixed-use development centred on purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), residential units and retail space.

Located along Jalan SS15/8, the redevelopment gives new life to one of Subang Jaya's most recognisable education landmarks while reinforcing the SS15 precinct's role as a mature education-focused urban hub in the Klang Valley.

The project will feature two 31-storey residential towers comprising 614 units, complemented by a three-storey retail podium with 18 commercial units. Residential units will range from 550 sq ft to 980 sq ft and include dual-key and triple-key layouts designed to appeal to both owner-occupiers and property investors.

A major highlight of the development is its professionally managed purpose-built student accommodation, which will be operated by Taylor's Hostel Management. The PBSA aims to meet increasing demand for quality student housing within the Subang Jaya-Sunway education corridor.

The area is home to more than 100,000 students studying at institutions such as Taylor's University, Sunway University, Monash University Malaysia, INTI International University & Colleges and SEGi College.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Gim Teck Yew said the redevelopment reflects Gamuda Land's long-term placemaking philosophy by preserving the site's educational legacy while adapting it to meet the evolving needs of students and urban communities.

He noted that the project continues the area's longstanding identity as a vibrant education district built around connectivity and community.

Meanwhile, Loy Teik Ngan said the redevelopment respects the historical significance of the former Taylor's College campus while creating a modern student living environment that supports future educational and lifestyle requirements.

According to Gamuda Land, Haus on 15 is strategically positioned within one of the Klang Valley's strongest rental markets, supported by sustained student demand, high occupancy rates and excellent public transport accessibility.

The development is located about 500 metres from the Kelana Jaya Line's SS15 station and enjoys convenient access to major highways, including the Federal Highway, New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and the Subang-Kelana Jaya Link.

Residents will also benefit from proximity to established retail destinations such as Subang Parade, Empire Subang, Sunway Pyramid and the SS15 commercial district.

Gamuda Land estimates the surrounding area serves approximately 478,000 residents and 341,000 workers, reinforcing the location's attractiveness as a key market for student accommodation and rental housing.
